“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God” 2 Cor. 5:21(NIV)
What a perfect exchange! What a perfect substitute!! What a great ransom!!!. Christ our perfect sin-offering. His sinless personality properly fit in as the lamb without blemish. His blood was a stainless one yet He bore all the judgments sinners deserve in other to consummate the price for our sin to present us guiltless and innocent before God. What a sacrifice! By His death Christ secured our redemption and salvation. “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit” . He suffered great excruciating pains and agony in offering Himself for sin, truly the just for the unjust. What a substitute and a ransom! Most times it staggers my human mind in appreciating this great sacrifice that on most occasions it causes tears to flow freely from my eyes. What a demonstration of love! It is no wonder then that the bible says “to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge: that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” Eph. 3:19(NKJV). The demonstration on the cross is above human knowledge.
My dear reader “Greater love has no man than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” – John 15:13. It is time to take a thorough look at the work of Jesus at the Cross to properly appreciate His love for you.
