Bible Reading: Psalm 18 & 19; Acts 20:20-38
“Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God” Acts 20:26-27 (KJV).
Apostle Paul taught us something very important about preaching the good news. We are saved by God so that we can go out and help others come to Him through Jesus. Failure to do this, especially deliberately not going out to spread the word you have received, believed and benefited from, is going against God’s command.
God commands that the good news must be preached (Matthew 24:14). Jesus commissioned His disciples, and not the multitudes, to go therefore and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). He wants all men saved because all souls are His (Ezekiel 18:4). His love for man made Him send His only begotten son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16). He has shed that love abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5).
Paul connected to that love, no wonder he said, “… for necessity is laid upon me; yea woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel” 1 Corinthians 9:16b (KJV). He took this responsibility so personal he went to both Jews and gentiles, all in a bid to see Jesus formed in them and to clear his conscience. He told the unbelieving Jews, ” .. your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean!” Acts 18:6 (KJV).
Are you clean from the blood of those you should assist in coming to God? Like Paul, approach them, do your part and let God do the rest. Provisions have already been made; We have been given the Holy Spirit who empowers us with boldness, teaches us all things, and comforts us in uncomfortable times and situations. All we need do is step out and see God work through us, like He did Paul.
Save a soul today through Jesus. Let’s not end up with regrets over not speaking to that friend, colleague or neighbour of ours. Tomorrow may be too late.
Action Plan: Talk to somebody today about Jesus, and call back in a few days time to check on the person(s).
