…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: Psalm 30 & 31 Acts 23:18-35
“O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer” Psalms 31:23 (KJV)

The most difficult person to find today, according to the bible is somebody who is faithful. “Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” Proverb 20:6 (KJV). Every man will tell how good he or she is, but when given a task you see for yourself if they are faithful or not. Especially in today’s world, people hardly keep to their words anymore. God is not pleased with this behaviour.

To be faithful is to be committed and consistent on a course of action or a task. God describes it in 1 Samuel 2:35 as a person “that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind…” Doing what God says continually will lead to faithfulness. It is difficult to see persons who will keep to the task handed over to them. But with a faithful person you will require very little supervision to get things done. Jesus describes a faithful servant as one who when his master comes back will find him doing as he was commanded (Luke 12:42-43).

God delights in, looks out for, and preserves the faithful. In Psalm 101:16a (KJV), He says, “Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that he may dwell with me:” God looks out for the faithful and dwells with them! No matter how little that thing you are doing, do it faithfully. In whatever you do, do it as to God who watches and rewards the faithful.

Examples of those who were faithful in scriptures includes our Lord, Jesus Christ, Moses, Samuel, David, Paul, and many others. Moses was faithful in everything that God sent him (Numbers 12:7). No wonder he became very great. Samuel was faithful till the end. Jesus was faithfulness personified. Let’s follow these examples.

Action Task: Take a good look at all you are doing. How faithful have you been to God,family, friends, your bosses and others. Do all things henceforth with God in front guiding you.

“Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, doth Job fear God for nought” –  Job 1:9(KJV). Satan is the accuser of the brethren. He accuses the believers before God and he comes to the brethren to accuse God before them. His intention is to sow seed of discord between God…
