…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: Psalm 35 & 36; Acts 25

“Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall” Psalms 35:8 (KJV)

Wickedness in the world, it seems, is getting on the increase on a level never seen become. These are signs of the last days. But when believers become targets of evil acts in the society, we must strictly follow what the bible says, taking into account the sutuation on ground.

Believers are instructed to forgive their enemies and to pray for their salvation (Matthew 5:39,44). In fact, our Lord, Jesus Christ showed us an example when He prayed for His accusers on the cross, asking the Father to forgive them for they know not what they do (Luke 23:34). Some people do wicked things ignorantly. Such ones can be prayed for.

But not all persons should be prayed for. People who are bent on deliberately destroying a believers destiny for the sake of his belief in God ought to be committed into God’s Hand for vengeance. Haman, out of hatred for Mordecai, would have wiped out the entire Jewish race if not for vengeance from God. Pharoah wouldn’t have let Israel go to serve God if not for God’s intervention. Daniel was targeted because of His service to God. But God helped him.

David experienced this too, and cried out for vengeance against his enemies. Vengeance belongs to God alone. He owns all souls. He created all for a purpose. He does not want any man to be destroyed. But if that soul keeps abusing the purpose for which he was created by deliberately committing evil, then God’s Hand will come against suchlike ones in just a matter of time.

Like David, ask for vengeance from God, so as to see injustice and cruelty come to an end, evil destroyed, Satan defeated, godliness exalted and righteousness established.
