“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” -1John 2:1
Christ did not only die for us at the cross to blot out our sins, He provided us with a consummate redemption by continuing as our advocate before God the Father. We are not to willfully and deliberately sin, but if we unintentionally fall into sin He handles our case as our advocate before God. To further buttress this Hebrew 7:25 says “Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing that He ever liveth to make intercession for them”. This is good news indeed. This is a great assurance to him/her who has given up all for Jesus. He is indeed our High Priest who not only entered the holiest place of the tabernacle on high with His blood but continuously intercede on our behalf before our God and Father. We are indeed highly favoured. It is no wonder the bible says “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,…” – Hebrew 12:2a. Our salvation is complete with exceeding great and precious promises that guarantees our transformation to take on the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). The love of God is humanly incomprehensible because it is above all human knowledge. The Almighty God deserves our praise and thanksgiving for counting us worthy of so great a salvation. This is indeed an unconditional and unmerited favour from God and we are extremely grateful for it.
Prayer: Father give me the grace to deeply appreciate your love that passes all knowledge and to live in it. In Jesus name.
