Bible Reading: Psalm 74, 75 & 76; Romans 9:17-33
“For the scripture saith unto Pharoah, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might show my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth” Romans 9:17 (KJV)
A life lived on purpose is usually rich and a blessing to humanity. Dr Myles Munroe said, “When purpose is not known abuse is inevitable.” God created every man on earth for a purpose. But many lead their lives without finding out God’s plan.
God has a plan for every person. He told the prophet Jeremiah, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee: and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations” Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV). His goal is for us to live according to His will and to allow Him fulfill His plan in us.
God’s plan for us is always for our good. His thought for us are for peace, and not of evil, to give us an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). But sometimes, in the cause of fulfilling His plan for His children, some people end up in His wrath. Like King Pharoah of Egypt, who God dealt with to bring the promise He made to Abraham to come to pass (Genesis 15:13-14). Pharoah already had a hardened heart before God and His people. Therefore, God hardened him the more, leading to his downfall.
It is wise to go closer to Him who, not only created you but knows your tomorrow. You are either with God or against Him. It is dangerous when you choose to stand against Him be it deliberately or ignorantly, like Pharoah of Egypt. The end of suchlike ones is utter destruction.
For those of us who believe in His Son Jesus Christ, He has shown mercy. From that mercy platform we go all out to serve and worship Him obediently. As we do, He reveals the Purpose of our lives to us and we become a blessing as He has planned to humanity.
Your purpose is to be a blessing to the world after the order of Jesus Christ, His Son.
Prayer: Father, thank you for revealing to Your children their purpose for being here today.
