Bible Reading: Psalm 87 & 88; Romans 13
“O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee: Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry” Psalm 88:1-2 (KJV).
Prayer is man agreeing with God’s Will, and man receiving feedback from Him. God will not do anything outside of His will for man. Being omniscient He knows our needs, yet, we must ask before He attends to it. James 4:2 (KJV) says, “…ye have not, because ye ask not.”
God never does anything outside of His will. Many people ask but don’t receive because it is not in His will. James 4:3 (KJV) says, “ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” Hannah, the wife of Elkanah, at a point, needed her own child so she can answer her adversary, Peninah. But when she changed her reason for crying unto God, He heard her. She asked for a man child that she will give to God all the days of his life (1 Samuel 1). She asked according to His will and got her answerm
David was a man who depended on God all through his life. His persistent cries made a him a man after God’s heart. It is almost impossible to escape being pursued by a king for many years. But his cries brought God to his side; he not only survived the evil Saul, he became a king. God desires we call upon Him at all times, no matter how insignificant that thing may look like.
Your cries must be persistent. The enemy does not want your cries answered. Daniel had to persist in His call to God in a fast for many days because the enemy withstood the angel sent to him (Daniel 10). No matter how delayed that answer may seem before coming, like Daniel and king Daniel, continue. Don’t give up till your answer comes.
Prayer: Father, I receive grace to cry according to Your will always in Jesus name
