Bible Reading: Psalm 119:89-176; 1 Corinthians 8
“Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me” Psalm 119:133 (KJV).
The word of God is the answer to every issue of concern in life. It contains the truth of life. The bible says in Psalm 119:160 (KJV), “Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth forever.” Whether you understand it or not, His Word is truth. However, it becomes truth to you the day your heart captures His word by His Spirit.
God’s word provides a way of escape for us from the iniquity in the world. Satan keeps trying to ensnare God’s people with his lies and tricks. But by following His Word, we can say, like the Psalmist, “Thou through thy commandments has made me wiser than my enemies: for they are ever with me” Psalm 119:98 (KJV). Wisdom is living your life as directed by the word. Wisdom directs your path in the journey of life, profitably (Ecclesiastics 10:10).
With the word of God in your recreated spirit, “sin shall not have dominion over you” Romans 6:14 (KJV). But a lack of the word in us makes many people fall into the hand of the enemy. Isaiah 5:13a (KJV), “Therefore, my people are gone into captivity because they have no knowledge.” Knowledge of what God has done for you through Christ, and also knowledge of how the enemy operates too is very important, among others.
Iniquity is a mystery that is already at work in this world (2 Thessalonians 2:7), but our choice to follow and remain in God through His Word will produce the much needed Godliness needed to counter the work of the devil in the world.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your Word in my spirit. By Your Word cleanse me continually and renew my mind every day.
