BIBLE READING: PROVERB 1,2; 1 CORINTHIANS 16
“For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” 1 Corinthians 16:9 (KJV)
Adversaries are enemies to our chosen goals and destinies. They are opposing forces that tend to stop or hinder us from reaching our intended goals in life. Adversaries are real in this present life. If one ever intends to reach his goal in life and find fulfillment in all life’s pursuits, he must learn to deal with adversaries.
For every meaningful thing one wants to pursue in life, he must be prepared to face adversaries. They show up in different ways and at different times. Nehemiah learnt to deal with the adversaries that tried to stop the rebuilding of Jerusalem temple. The goal of the adversaries is to discourage distract, demoralize deceive, and defeat us and weaken our drive. The ultimate goal of the adversary is to destroy our destiny.
Wisdom and grace are required to handle and defeat the adversary. For one to succeed in life, one must not be ignorant of the activities of the adversaries. They are agents of the devil and so we must not be ignorant of their devices.
Much prayer and consistent meditation on the word are needed to handle the adversary. It will require that one watch and pray so that one can be sensitive to the wicked devices of the adversaries.
PRAYER: I receive grace to overcome the adversary.
