BIBLE READING: PROVERB 6:7; 2 CORINTHIANS 2
“Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place” 2 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)
The victory of the believer is rooted in the conquest of Christ. His triumph is our triumph. In Christ, we triumph over sin, over sickness and infirmities. We triumph over death. We triumph over Satan and his cohorts. Our victory is not dependent on our goodness nor is it dependent on our skill or our good works. No man can prevail by works. Our triumph is the celebration of our victory in Christ.
When Jesus carried our sins and paid the price on the cross, it was for our liberation from sin, its power and from its penalties. When one receives the life of Christ, he is empowered to overcome sin, sickness, servitude, Satan and his cohorts.By faith, the believer in Christ appropriates the victory that Jesus purchased on the cross. His victory is credited into the believer’s account as righteousness.
In Christ, the sinner is forgiven, made free from the power and consequences of sin. In Christ, we can truly love God and humanity. In Christ, our sins are forgiven, cleansed and we are justified. In Christ the dominion of sin is broken and the power of righteousness is activated. In Christ, the believer is enabled to serve in newness of life. In Christ, the Holy Spirit indwells the believer enabling him to bear the fruit of the Spirit. Sin and Satan kept man on the floor, defeated and hopeless but in Christ we are lifted and made to sit together in heavenly places.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for my victory in Christ Jesus.
