BIBLE READING: PROVERBS 20,21; 2 CORINTHIANS 7.
“Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus.” 2 Corinthians 7:6 (KJV).
We often find ourselves in situations where we need external help. Sometimes in life, we are cast down by affairs of this life. We could be depressed, discourage, demoralized or despair of hope. In such times when our hearts are broken, our hope shattered and our faith weakened, we need someone to comfort us. Every person at one time or the other is confronted with situation that will demand comfort from another. We cannot live in isolation; we need others to be at our best in life. The worst scenario is where one is out of touch with God.
Without God, one has no life. It is so frustrating. Independent life does not exist anywhere. It is self deception to ever think you can succeed in life without God or without the input of others in your life. It doesn’t matter how rich, how learned or how highly placed one is, one will need God and others in one’s life.
There are three major ways we receive comfort in life namely:
- The comfort of the brethren (2 Corinthians 1:4)
- The comfort of the scriptures (Roman 15:4)
- The comfort of the Holy Spirit (Acts 9:31)
Position yourself in humility to avail yourself of these levels of comfort in your time of need.
Prayer: May God send you comfort in your time of need in Jesus name.
