Bible Reading: Isaiah 53, 54 & 55: 2 Thessalonians 1
“Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you” 2 Thessalonians 1:6 (KJV).
One thing I am sure of as a child of God, is that God will not leave His children whom He redeem with a very great price to be troubled and dehumanized by the enemy. Considering what transpired in redemption, it is unimaginable to think that God will leave us to the devil and its agent to treat as they like. If I may take leave from my fatherhood of my children, I will not stay and watch my son or daughter been strangled by a fellow human being. I will put all my strength to save my child from the hand of the enemy, if need be, kill the enemy to save my child. In the same vein will the Almighty rise to defend His own by troubling those that trouble us. It is righteous for God to fight for His own by destroying the enemy of His people.
It was righteousness on God’s path to destroy the army of Egypt at the Red Sea. God avenges His people against the enemy of their soul. It is righteous for God to avenge His children. This is clearly stated in Zechariah 2:8 (KJV), “For thus saith the LORD of host; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.” We are the anointed and prophets of the Most High God and our father has sent out a warning to all nations, tribe and kindred “Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm” Psalm 105:15 (KJV). It is therefore a gross disobedience on the part of anyone, be it Satan’s agent to contradict this warning and put forth their hands on God’s children. Such a person shall suffer recompense of tribulation as a troubler of God’s people.
God is not a man to go back to His word. So it very pertinent for us to present His word when demanding for His intervention in our life against the troubler of our soul. When Hezekiah, the elders and the people of Israel cried unto God against the confederacy of Moab, mount Seir and the Ammonites, God arose in His righteousness and lay an ambush against the wicked confederacy. Most time it seems as if our God is not answering our prayer, God in His long suffering is building up His anger that will come unabated against the wickedness of the wicked. See what God says in Isaiah 42:14 (KJV), “I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: and now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.” It is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God for Him to recompense tribulation to them that trouble us. We must know this and invoke it in our prayers. God takes vengeance against the children of disobedience.”In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 1:8 (KJV). It is our birth right as the sons of God to be protected by Him.
Dear reader, sonship in God is initiated through the redemption that Christ offers. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour today and you automatically become a recipient of divine protection.
Prayer: Father thank you for your protection over me as the apple of your eye.
