Bible Reading: Amos 4, 5, 6, Revelation 7.
Memory Verse: “For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:” Amos 5:4 (KJV)
This world is full of challenges and obstacles. Those things make the world interesting but could also lead one to depression. A man who builds a house and keeps treasure in it knows exactly where they are kept and can easily take any visitor to the treasure. However where a stranger is aware of the treasure and wants to possess it without going through the one who builds the house, he may search all through without locating it. But if someone else who wants the same treasure goes to the man who builds the house and asks for the key to the house and the location of the treasure, he is not only certain to get the treasure but will also do so in record time!
This is the situation of human beings and God. He is the creator of all and so knows how best His creature can live. It is left for you and I to seek His face so that He will direct us on how best to utilise our body to get the best from it. ( That is why every human being needs to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour). God is quite magnanimous as He also states clearly on how you can optimize your body. He says in Amos 5:4 (KJV), “For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:” Furthermore, God will be able to tell you the various treasures of the world because they are his creation as well. In Genesis 1:1 (KJV) the bible says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” So we need his guidance to access the treasures. No wonder he says in Isaiah 45:2-3 (KJV), “I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: [3] And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.”
So whatever you do and whatever level in life you may be, you can always do better by seeking your creator, God Almighty. Jesus Christ puts it succinctly in Matthew 6:33 (KJV), “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” The interesting thing is that if you have sought refuge earlier in the wrong place like going to occult or any satanic power, Jesus is ready to deliver you as long as you are ready to submit to him. It does not matter what you were told will be consequences of your leaving the group, Jesus will set you free.
Action Point: If you have strayed away to satan before now, just pray to Jesus Christ, accepting him as your Lord and Saviour and ask him to forgive you your sins while promising to obey him going forward. For others, ask God to continue to keep you in his presence in Jesus name.
