Memory Verse: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Revelation 12:11 (KJV)
Testimony is a solemn attestation as to the truth of a matter. Christian testimony is the public profession of your faith journey and relationship with God. Some often limit testimony to sharing their Christian experience of a particular event on a stand. But a look at the definition of a testimony shows it is wider than that. It encompasses witnessing of Christ to others.
The issue, then, is how often do you witness Christ to others? Starting from members of your family to those of your neighbour, the full community and the world at large. It is interesting to note that you can overcome Satan and all its agents by word of your testimony. Revelation 12:11 (KJV) says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” This is by witnessing Christ to others, sharing with them your faith and experience in Christ. Since this is the heartbeat of Christ, this is also a way of seeking first the kingdom of Christ and its righteousness and every other thing will be added unto the seeker ( Matthew 6:33).
Some few months ago, a young lady was witnessing in Akure, south west of Nigeria and on one of the days, she witnessed to a lame and prayed with him. Immediately after the prayer, the lame man received strength in his leg and began to walk. This caused a lot of stir as people became so interested in her and asked her to pray for them for their various infirmities. This is one of the wonders of testimony. What challenge are you going through and what has the adversaries thrown at you? If you can take witnessing or testifying to the lordship of Jesus seriously and win souls unto him on a continuous basis with a clean heart, you are a candidate for miracles. To do this, you must be ready to obey the word of God irrespective of the challenges. Witnessing Christ could be hazardous particularly in an environment where there are many unbelievers and one must have made up his mind to serve God even unto death! This is what our memory verse says. In such circumstances, such a person will overcome Satan and its hosts.
