…Spreading the gospel of Christ

WORD MEDITATION: 23/12/2020

Bible Reading: Nahum 1; 2; 3, Revelation 14.

Memory Verse: “The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him” Nahum 1:7 (KJV).

God is good at all times. However this may be difficult for some to believe as they are going through challenging times and do not understand why their prayers have not been answered. However, in most cases, we pass judgment on incomplete facts. Our decisions are made based on our understanding and interpretation of the facts available to us and not all facts concerning the situation on hand. Several years ago, God showed me one of the properties our company has and told me we would celebrate based on that property. I expected it to happen shortly thereafter. A few years after, the company began to pass through major setbacks such that we owed several creditors and unable to pay salaries for months and staff began to leave in droves. In fact the pressure became so much because all other companies that we invested in made huge losses compounding our woes! We decided to develop the property that was shown me several years earlier and by the time we had the cost of development, we decided to abandon the project since there was no cash to develop the land and our books were bad as a result of accumulated losses so we could not ask for a loan from any financial institution. To make it worse, we did not have title to the property!

Things turned for worse as I had to be seeking for assistance to meet some basic needs. However, in all these, I remembered what God had revealed to me in my dream earlier and knew that God never abandons his own neither does he give false promises. So I held on to it. That became my solace in very difficult times! That God had told me we would celebrate based on the development of that land! Suddenly, government granted us the title and we got some money to begin the basic infrastructures of the location and the property became attractive as we chose to provide serviced plots rather than constructing houses for sale!

What challenges are you going through? God must have revealed something to you in respect of the situation but you either have forgotten or did not take note at the point of revelation. Just hold unto him recognising He is good! When Jesus told Peter, he would deny him thrice before the cock crew three times, it did not look so and Peter denied it! ( Matthew 26:34-35). When it happened, Peter remembered and wept bitterly ( Matthew 26:73-75). God will never abandon his children. As long as you are faithful to him, He will speak to you about your future, it is left for you to take note. Once you know that, you will acknowledge the love of God as stated in Nahum 1:7 (KJV), “The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”

This is why it is good to write down any notable future thing that God tells you. It could be by dream, vision, still small voice, audible voice, his word in the bible or through an anointed man of God!

Action Point: Begin to record all notable things God reveals to you. It will help to guide your future!
