Bible Reading: Exodus 4,5,6; Matthew 14:19-36
“… Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn” Exodus 4:23 (KJV)
Our service to God is our security in life. If you submit yourself to God to serve Him wholeheartedly, the enemy will find it difficult to deal with you. The scripture says in James 4:7 (KJV), “submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” You must submit to Him in service so as to give no place to the devil.
Many are still in bondage today because their submission to God is not total. Standing in the middle of the road is a big risk; you must make a choice. But one thing is clear: You are servant of whoever you choose to obey (Romans 6:16). God created every man for a purpose. He is not happy watching the devil torment and misdirect the people He formed Himself. But, He will only come to our aid depending on our choice.
In today’s memory verse, God laid out His plan to Moses and the Israelites: I will bring you out of slavery so that you will worship me. After Moses and Aaron passed the message to the people, Exodus 4:31 (KJV) says, “And the people believed and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their light affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.”
Yes, God will contend with them that contend with your decision to serve Him (Isaiah 49:25-26). He will go to any length to rescue anyone who has decided to worship Him from the hands of the enemy. And the beautiful part of it all is that when God comes, He stays till you are totally out of the hand of the wicked one.
You too can make that choice to serve Him today. Accept Jesus today and heaven will work tirelessly to bring you into that promised land which only God offers.
