BIBLE READING: EXODUS 36, 37, 38; MATTHEW 23:1-20
“For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much” Exodus 36:7 (KJV).
We so frequently run into the problem of insufficient resources. Even the government of nations, especially developing and undeveloped nations, always complain of insufficient money to pay salaries and fund projects. Nations take loan from International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank and other donor and financial institutions in other to meet the running cost of governance. To attain a state of sufficiency is a miracle that most people are not privileged to attain or enjoy. Projects are often abandoned even by the government and institutions due to insufficient resources. Individuals and organizations are not left out in these challenges.
It is shocking then to read that in Moses’ time, and same with King Solomon, that the people supplied so much for the building that Moses had to instruct them to stop further supply. They provided more than enough for the project. God does not abandon his project, when He begins, He accomplishes and He never runs out of resources. The work Moses was doing was initiated by God, it was not Moses idea but God’s. So it was funded by God by making the people to give willingly and bountifully for the project. The result was obvious.
If we can allow God to do the same with us and in us, we will experience the beauty of his sufficient provision.
Prayer: Dear Lord, make sufficient provision for all my projects this year in Jesus name.
