BIBLE READING: NUMBERS 3,4; MARKS 3:19-35
“And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: And Eleazar Ithamar ministered in the Priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father”. Numbers 3:4 (KJV).
God’s work must be done in God’s way. Every service we present to God must meet God’s standard. God is not so much in need of worship as to accept everything offered unto him. For our worship or service to be accepted by Him it must be holy and the offering must be done in a manner prescribed by him.
God demanded that Moses build the tabernacle according to the pattern shown to him. It is only as we offer according to divine pattern that our sacrifice can be acceptable to God. Cain’s offering was rejected but Abel’s offering was accepted. God first receive us before he receives our offering. God had no respect for Cain and for his offering but God accepted Abel and his offering.
Our motive and method matter so much to God. Worship or offering rendered with impure motive or unclean lifestyle will never receive God’s acceptance. We have to be holy that bear the vessel of the Lord.
Any offering, sacrifice or service rendered to God born by strife, envy, malice, unhealthy competition or lust cannot receive God’s approval.
Our lives and motives must be approved by God for our offering and worship to be acceptable to him.
Prayer: Dear Lord, may my offering and worship be acceptable in Your sight.
