BIBLE READING: NUMBERS 9,10,11; MARK 5:1-22
“And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed and in his right mind;
and they were afraid” Mark 5:15 (KJV).
Jesus came to set the captives free. True liberty comes from Christ. Satan is the one that puts people in bondage. He takes pleasure in afflicting people. “The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly” John 10:10 (KJV).
Jesus gives life in abundance to people. He saves and preserves. Satan came to destroy and to afflict people. Whenever the afflicted come to Jesus for deliverance, He frees them from the bondage of sin, sickness, diseases and demonic chains. Anyone Jesus sets free is free indeed.
However, Jesus does not force freedom on sinners because he cannot violate people’s freedom. If you can seek deliverance and freedom from Jesus, He will willingly reach out and free you. External chain is not the only proof of bondage. Spiritual captivity is worse than physical captivity. Only Jesus can truly free sinners
