Bible Reading: Numbers 23; 24; 25. Mark: 7:18-37
“How shall I curse whom God hath not cursed? Or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied?”. Numbers 23:8 (KJV)
When God is with you and leads you He puts you inside the enclave of His power and covers you with innocence and purity, which makes you fully protected from curses, for, “As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come” Proverbs 26:2 (KJV). For everyone led by God you are hedged round by fire that will consumed every satanic arrows such as curses. These are the lots of a people led by God, “For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her” Zechariah 2:5 (KJV).
Most times the evil powers consulted by our adversaries are blind not to notice this formidable protection we have in God, which consequently lead to them being victims of their own evil arrows. Balaam saw this great protection around Israel as a nation in the wilderness and made the above statement in numbers 23:8. He refused to be a victim of divine retribution that would result in any evil he sent towards the camp of Israel. Our Christian journey is a reflection of the journey of Israel through the wilderness to the promise land. We have numerous adversaries. We face different types of battle. Among such battles are the effort of our adversaries to consult powers of darkness to place curses. Like Balaam, witchdoctors, occult men, sorcerers, wizards etc, are usually consulted to carry out satanic incantation and divination against believers. Forces on earth, under the earth, in the waters and in the heavenly places are deployed in this spiritual battle. In the wilderness Israel faced both intense physical and spiritual battles, but came out victoriously in all.
Spiritual battles are deadlier considering that they are physically unseen instruments of warfare. However, in all these we are more than conquerors. In Numbers 23:23a (KJV), the bible says concerning all the arrows of evil against Israel, which also apply to us as Christian: “Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel:..” Our weapon of warfare is not carnal but mighty through God to pull down and destroy the evil forces of darkness (2 Corinthians 10:4). Beloved the bible says, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD” Isaiah 54:17 (KJV). Concerning the devices of the enemy the word of God says, “He (GOD) disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise” Job 5:12(KJV). Concerning their evil enchantment the word of God says, “Thou shall be hid from the scourge of the tongue:..” Job 5:21a (KJV). As believers, this is our confidence in Christ Jesus when we live pure and righteous before our God. We need to be properly position to repel every arrow of the wicked and such positioning is our stand in Christ. We must live pure and righteous before our God to be a recipient of His protection. When we do this all our troublers will be properly recompensed.
In this world those who are not believers are dust and the devil is entitle to feed on them. To the serpent God said, “….Upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life” Genesis 3:14b (KJV). To man God said “…For out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” Genesis 3:19b (KJV). Those who are followers of Christ are referred to as stars. “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise” Proverbs 11:30(KJV). In Daniel 12:3 (KJV), the scriptures refer to the wise, who are soul winners thus, “And they that be wise (soul winners) shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever” The devil cannot feed on stars for two reasons: First they are unreachable, second they are too big and strong to swallow.
My dear reader, for you to escape being eaten up by the devil you must run to Christ and stay under His protection being sealed by Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Father thank you for making me unreachable to Satan and his cohorts in Jesus name.
