“Likewise also as it was in the days; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed”. – Luke 17:28-30(KJV)
A study of what transpired in Lot’s days will revealed to us that Lot actually pleaded with the wicked homosexuals of Sodom to take his daughters and leave the visiting men (angels) alone. The sin of homosexual was the abomination that led to the destruction of Sodom. Jesus pointed out in our passage above that the same rot that prevailed in Sodom will be prevalence in the last days. We do not need a prophet to inform us that we are actually in the last days. Today same sex marriage is been passed into law. It is no longer done in secret, it has now become a thing of pride to be a homosexual. Ministers of God in America are been prosecuted for refusing gay marriage in their respective churches. My brethren Sodom is back in our midst. The mystery of iniquity is very much at work. Christian activities are been banned in academic institutions, religious teaching has been stopped and prohibited in schools while high level education of immorality is given prominence in our day to day activities. The social media has become a haven of immoral and satanic inducements. In order to belong most church pastors has extended their hands to evil on the platform of freedom of association. We are witnessing in the history of humanity the highest level of divorce. The sacred institution of marriage is been bastardized by adultery. The number of single parentage has grown astronomically. It seems as if the world is in a rush to sin, legalize and explore new avenues to sin. This is what the bible is saying in 2 Thess. 2:7a (KJV) “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work:……..”. While economic, political and social activities such as buying and selling, farming and planting, merry making and marriage are on the increase. Satan has gone into every segment of human endeavor polluting it with rots that are unimaginable. In all these the bible warns in 1Cor. 3:17(KJV) “If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are”. The scriptures also admonish us in 2 Cor. 6:17(KJV) “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,”. If there is any time for us to be separated from uncleanliness this is the time. We must hold on tenaciously to the word of God, live by faith and daily apply the blood of Jesus Christ for our coverage and dominion over sin and unrighteous living. It is by these that our sanctification is guaranteed.
