Bible Reading: Joshua 22,23,24. Luke 3:1-end
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
Serving God is a choice and not coerced. Our God, the creator of all things does not force His being served on any man. However, the choice of serving other gods other than the true God has its consequences. This choice is made on daily basis by man. Now, as Joshua presented it, that is how it has been and will be until the end of time when God shall judge everyone according to the choice we made. It is a choice of acceptance or rejection of Christ. Over my little lifespan I have seen people make choice between serving and living according to divine tenets and serving Satan in the disguise of serving the gods of this world. The choice is actually limited to two – serving God or Satan. Where does your allegiance lie? Are you serving gods who will plunder your health, destroy your future, distort your destiny, kill and maim your children, kill and take away your loved ones, plunder your finances, demand the blood of human being as sacrifice, blood suckers and the gods that will turnaround to destroy you? Or are you ready to serve the ever loving God who gave out Himself in order to save you from destruction, the one that rescues you from destruction on daily basis, the one that brought you under His cover of the everlasting covenant of protection and exemption from evil?
Over the ages men had entered into satanic covenant to serve the god of mammon all for riches because of the fear of poverty. Some had covenanted themselves to their so called gods for protection against their real or perceived enemies. Whatever be the motives behind your choice, it is a free will choice you have made. Every man will bear the responsibility of his choice. Being a member of satanic ministry, an occult, a free thinker, an Ekancar, a witch, a necromancer, a ritualist, Ogboni Confraternity etc is a choice. The motive behind your choice will be judged on the last day. However, hear what the bible says concerning God’s love extended to man “FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE” John 3:16 (KJV).
My dear reader, make your choice today. Enough is enough for the wise. Truly, whatever be the motive for your choice will be brought to the open and be judged.
Prayer: Father, give me the grace to abide in my choice to serve you all the days of my life.
