Bible Reading: Judges 11,12. Luke 6:1-25
“The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner” Psalm 118:22 (KJV)
This saying have been proven true throughout ages. This contradiction emanates from the limitation of man. Most times man’s evaluation is based purely on the individual’s current state and not on future activities. God’s knowledge about man is all-knowing, which is inclusive of all future activities. Due to the limitation of man, he lacks the ability to see beyond the now and as such, his estimation of his fellow man is grossly deficient. It is based on this scenario that the above axiom hold sway in human relationship and dealing. This limitation was the undoing of Nabal the fool. This limitation created enabling environment for the fulfilment of prophecy of Christ mission.
In our bible story of today, the rejected son of a harlot who was driven away by his brethren turned out to judge Israel for six years. The people failed to know that there can be illegitimate parent but there is no illegitimate child. They acted on the present and never knew that a day will come when they have to rely on the heroism of Jephthah, the son of a harlot. This is all due to human limitation. “And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all inhabitants of Gilead” Judges 11:8(KJV). Most decisions and choices we make as man is affected by this limitation of not seeing beyond now. The only way we can be insulated from this limitation is to stay in God who will guide us by the Holy Ghost through our spirit to be more effective in our choices.
The choice and decision you make today can be the undoing of your future and future generation. There is no amount of human wisdom that can correct this deficiency in man except surrendering our life to the Almighty God by accepting Christ into our life. The earth was created by God’s word, and that word is Christ and Christ is the power and wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24). So the one who has repository of all knowledge is Christ, He being the instrument by which all things were created (John 1:1-3). It is therefore imperative for you to synchronise your decision, with both the present and future states, you must come to Him in whom all knowledge resides. This is to avoid making the mistake of rejecting someone whose destiny is intertwined with ours to be our help in life. We must embrace Christ in order to avoid looking down on people whom God has ordained in future to be our source of help. This is what is referred to as divine direction.
My dear reader it is only in Christ you can enjoy divine guidance. “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me besisde the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake” Psalm 23:1-3 (KJV). When we diligently walk with God we will not lack in our quest for true direction, our decision and choices will be properly guided by God. This is the reason why most of the people who diligently walk with God are stars in their profession and generation.
Prayer: My God and my Father let your guidance perpetually abide with me.
