Bible Reading: 2 Kings 17,18; John 3:19-36
“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins” 1 John 4:10 (KJV)
The purpose of God for your life has never changed and will never change. His plan for us according to His word in Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV), “… plans to prosper you and to give you hope and a future.” This, He demonstrated, when He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. Romans 3:23 (NASB) sums it up, “But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” In the thick of our sins He showed us His love.
You can never fathom God’s love when it comes to man. All you can do is embrace it and go along with it. Despite our sins, He desires to make you a son after the order of His Son Jesus. This you can be by receiving and believing in His Son, Jesus Christ, through whom we now have eternal life. John 1:12 (KJV) says, “but as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” What an awesome God!
God wants to give you everything He has, like He gave Adam, who later handed it to the devil. To correct this, love for man made Him give up His priceless Son just to bring you into His fold so as to give you everything He has. The Apostle Paul understood this and asked, “He that spared not His own Son but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things.” Romans 8:32 (KJV). God has restored dominion back to man.
How has your response been to this love? What have you done or doing to show you appreciate this love bestowed upon you? To experience this love and live in all that God plans for you starts with your decision to receive and believe in His Son, Jesus, and walk in the commandments of God. As you do this you will experience the indescribable love of God in your life.
Prayer: Father, I thank you for Your love as seen in your plans for me. I receive grace to stay connected for life to Your Son, Jesus Christ.
