Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 4,5,6; John 6:1-24
“And this He said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do” John 6:6 (KJV).
Always knowing what to do at all times is the most distinguishing factor that separates us from God. He knows all things and can do all things. He said Isaiah 55:8 (NLT), “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts, says the Lord. And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
It all starts with our thought pattern. We need to move to the realm of God by asking for His ways and He will show us. Many only see God’s acts and deeds but don’t know His ways. Moses asked God to show him His ways and He did. Psalm 103:7 (KJV) confirmed this, “He made known His ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.” Just as He showed Moses what to do, He is still showing people today if only you will learn to live in that realm of possibility in your thought life, for with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27).
Jesus always knew what to do; even when He was on earth He lived beyond this realm. In the bible reading of today, there was the urgent need to provide food for multitudes, the men in the crowd was about five thousand. His disciples started doing the maths because they had in their midst a lad with five barley loaves, and two small fishes. But Jesus, living beyond this limited realm, knew what to do. John 6:11 (KJV) says, “And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.” At the end, there were twelve baskets of the loaves remaining after all had been fed.
You too have what it takes to know what to do at all times. Jesus said as my Father has sent Me, so sent I you (John 20:21). He was sent with God’s Spirit mightily at work in Him. The same spirit has been shed abroad to all. Let this mind be in you and that you have God’s Spirit in you which created all things and which was in Christ Jesus, and you can ask God to show you His ways too like Moses did. With these you will always know what to do.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for the grace to think like You, talk like You and act like You through Your Spirit.
