Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 4,5,6; John 10:22-41
“… Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, …” 2 Chronicles 6:5 (KJV)
Have you really thought about the reasons why God is God? I tried thinking in that direction many years back and I came up with so many reasons that I lost count of them. From being the creator of the whole universe, to being all-knowing, being everywhere, etc. but I especially held on to the one that whatever He says He has capacity to do. That is one area that got hold of me. Without this hope of seeing His word fulfilled life will be something else.
God has spoken so many things in time past and has fulfilled them. He said in Isaiah 55:8-9, “For as the rain cometh dow , and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: [11] so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which i please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” There is nothing impossible with Him; as He speaks, it is created immediately. He had a conversation with David about His house and He brought it to pass. That’s why Solomon in the memory verse of today blessed Him saying, “ “… Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, …” whatever He says He will do, that is what He will do.
What has God spoken to you or about you? Has it been fulfilled? Please note that whatever word of His you find or hear must be kept in your heart like David always do. David said, “Thy word have I hid in my heart” Psalm 119:11 (KJV). It is only when His word settles in the inner recesses of your heart that you have the hope of seeing the word fulfilled. Abraham hid God’s word in his heart and not even circumstances that he could literally see every day could make him lose hope of the fulfilment of God’s promise. Remember, Jesus said only the word that settled in the good ground of your heart will bear fruits.
Remember, we live in a world where the enemy is on the loose and will always give you reasons to believe that the word does not work. He gave those reasons to Eve, and he is still doing it today. But have faith in God; receive and believe His word in your heart and continue to give Him glory till you see the word manifested in your life. He is more than willing to perform His word in your life.
Prayer: Father, thank You for Your word in my life. Help me, LORD, to keep them in my heart.
