Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 13,14; John 12:1-25
“And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest” 2 Chronicles 14:6 (KJV)
A lot of people desire rest in their lives, yet, they do things that will never bring rest to them. Rest comes from focusing and giving our all to the Most High God. true rest lies with Him ad until you align with Him rest may remain an illusion.
Bible says in Psalm 16:4a (KJV) says, “Their sorrows shall multiply that hasten after another god.” Only Kings who put aside other gods and totally focused on God were given rest by Him. King Asa achieved this by “taking away all the alters of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the grooves. And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers and to do the law and the commandment” 2 Chronicles 14:3-4 (KJV).
When the enemies attacked Judah and ambushed them from all sides, God showed up for Judah. 2 Chronicles 14:12 (KJV) says, “So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.” God fights for you by Himself as you remain in Him like Asa. The reason why we are troubled on many sides is because of our positioning with God. several times the bible showed that those who stood with Him in all situations were always victorious. But as we remove our eyes from Him and mix our worship with some other things, He lives such a one.
Psalm 34:5 (KJV) says “They looked unto Him, and were lightened.” As you look on to Him today He will show you what you need to do so as to live in rest like King Asa and Judah.
