Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 23&24; John 15
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” John15:13 (KJV)
The actions emanating from love can be sometimes amazing and not be properly understood by the human mind as it can be said to be irrational act. Before Christ came into the world, what rationality was there to die for a world terribly ladened with sin? How rational was it that someone should take upon himself the penalty of sinners that are evil and guilty of terrible offences such as murder? It can only be the LOVE of God that can consummate such an exchange of the righteous dying in the place of the unrighteous and the unrighteous is now endowed of the righteousness of the sacrificed righteous man. There is no love greater than this. Such unconditional love pricks the mind even of the worst of sinners. It is no surprise the scriptures says love is the greatest. 1Corinthians 13:13 (KJV) “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” For a righteous cause or a righteous person can people die fighting for, but to take the place of a guilty and condemned man and die, can only be love from God. 2 Corinthians 5:21(KJV) clearly reveal to us the exchange at Calvary, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”.
Love is the greatest of all operational forces. Love can quench any rage; it can disarm the mightiest army. Love is the most powerful instrument available to humanity which has not been explored due to the evil heart of man. Love is the force behind creation. God created all things and God is Love. “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him” 1 John 4:16 (KJV).
It is expedient therefore that we follow the scriptural admonition in Ephesians 5:1-2 (KJV) “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour” My dear reader to qualify as a child of God you need to accept Christ into your life. You must of a necessity reciprocate His love and ask Him to come into your life. We encourage you to do this without hesitation.
Prayer: Father let me be fully immersed in your love and love for my fellow being.
