Bible Reading: Nehemiah 1, 2, 3; Acts 2: 1-23
“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” Acts 2:21 (KJV).
The power of salvation is embedded in the mighty name of our God. Jesus testified of the power of attorney conferred on His name in John 16:23 (KJV), “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the father in my name, he will give it you”. The scripture testifies that the name of the Lord is a mighty tower that provides salvation to the righteous (Proverbs 18:10). In Philippians 2: 9-10 (KJV) the bible affirms the supremacy of His name, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;” In Exodus 6:3 God said He appeared unto the Patriarchs as God Almighty, but not by His name Jehovah. God Through His name Jehovah empowered Moses to operate in Egypt. Jehovah names are the awesome and fearful names of God. However, all these mighty name of God are all subsumed in the name Jesus Christ. The protective name of Christ is a mighty tower where we find safety and succour. The name of Jesus Christ is multi-dimensional in operation. It raises the dead, it is the healing balm in Gilead, it is a protective shield against the enemy’s attack, it is a mighty weapon against the powers of darkness etc., etc.
The bible says that Jesus Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1-3). The scriptures says in Revelation 19:13b (KJV) “….and his name is called The Word of God.” God exalted His word above His name and Jesus is the Word of God, it therefore means that the name Jesus Christ is conferred with powers contained in all the names of God. The name Jesus Christ is God’s power of Attorney that carries the fullness of divine power to execute God’s agenda on earth.
My dear reade,r when we accept Christ into our life we become recipients of the power His name carries. It is therefore expedient that you run to Him who is your refuge in the storms of life.
Prayer: My God and my Father by your name I shall overcome all attacks of the enemy.
