Bible Reading: Psalm 100,101,102; 1 Corinthians 1
“Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture” Psalm 100:3 (KJV)
A good knowledge of who God is to you will really enhance your walk with Him. Many believe there is a God who created all things, while others say everything came about by accident. But looking at how wonderful the creations around us points to an intelligent creator it becomes easy to agree that there is someone behind these wonderful creations. Yet, even though they believe there is a God who created all things they are not conscious of Him at all in their daily walk in life.
You must get it into your thoughts and let it rule your mind that there is a God who created all things. That this God the creator is your Father. He is with you and for you. Let this thought rule your mind and let it become a dominant way of thinking in your life. Only then can you walk free in life in spite of the adversities in life. David knew we did not come here on our own; that is why he first acknowledges Him, “Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture” Psalm 100:3 (KJV).
David also knows the importance and advantage of having the consciousness of your creator with you. He says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me…” Psalm 23:4 (KJV). If the creator of the whole universe is with you then no terror or adversity can swallow you up. You will always triumph over any evil that comes against you. David’s testimonies all began from a consciousness of God with him. He says He will never leave nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). God is still with us today and is in you.
God sent His Son Jesus Christ to come and replicate Himself in us. In fact, the angel told Mary that they shall call him Emmanuel, meaning God is with us (Matthew 1:23). And while He was on earth, Jesus’ consciousness of the Father with Him was a major reason while He lived successfully and blamelessly on earth. He is still with us today in the person of His Holy Spirit.
To make the most of our stay here on earth we must deliberately cultivate the consciousness of His presence and declare it boldly at all times like David and Jesus did here on earth. Only then will our stay on earth be glorious.
Prayer: Father, thank You for presence with me at all times.
