BIBLE READING : Psalm137;138;139; 1 Corinthians 13
“The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands” Psalm 138:8 (KJV).
New birth is an event but the Christian life is a process of continous growth unto perfection. The believer accomplishes this growth through the agency of God’s word, prayer, fellowship with the brethren and a qualitative walk with the Holy Spirit. The growth process is the process of transformation from the world and conformity to Christ. This involves putting off ungodly habits, sinful lifestyle and wrong attitudes as well as emailing or putting on right attitudes, forming good habits and godly lifestyle.
The believer in Christ presents the body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto the Lord and renews the mind with the word of God. The growth process ultimately leads to maturity or completion in Christ. Where this growth is aborted, Christian progress is retarded but continous yieldedness and submission to growth process will lead to perfection in Christ. The goal of the Christian life is to perfect not only the spiritual life but all that concerns the believer in Christ. “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6 (KJV).
Prayer: Dear LORD, perfect all that concerns me in Jesus name.
