BIBLE READING: Psalm 143,144,145; 1 Corinthians 14:21-40
“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable” Psalm145:3 (KJV).
People measure greatness by people’s status. Such status could be financial power, educational status, spiritual power, political power, or physical power. All these are measurable and limited, but the God we serve is beyond human measure. We serve a limitless God, his love, his mercies, his kindness, his power and his goodness are all beyond measure. Praying for the church at Ephesus, apostle Paul desired that they may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and that they know the love of Christ, which transcends knowledge (Ephesians3:18-19).
God’s riches and greatness are said to be exceeding, his knowledge and wisdom, deep, his judgement, unsearchable and his ways passed finding out (Romans11:33). God is greater than all our troubles and bigger than all our life’s challenges. It is a great privilege to have Him as my Father; who will not like to serve such a great God? Principalities and powers bow at the mention of his name, Satan and his cohorts tremble at the sound of his voice. Mountains quake and the seas roar at his presence. It will be a delight to be a member of God’s family.
Prayer: Thank you for the privilege of sonship
