BIBLE READING : Proverb 27; 28; 29; 2 Corinthians 10.
“For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth” 2 Corinthians 10:18 (KJV).
We live in a world where people like to sing their praise to create the impression of self importance and how relevant they have become. Some will even run-down others and criticise them in a bid to project themselves. There is so much competition because everyone wants to be noticed and praised. This secret and even public desire for accolade has made most people so self centered at the expense of healthy relationship with others. This continues to have very negative effect on our society. King Solomon was right in this saying: “Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” Proverbs 20:6 (KJV). It makes more sense for one’s life and work to speak for him.
The saying that empty vessels make the most noise is true. Achievers are not noise makers. I get pissed off when people speak so much about how God is using them to do exploits, how gifted and anointed they have become. They end up taking the glory due to God. They seem to forget that everything we are and everything we have is purely by grace. This leaves no room for personal commendation, it is all about God and his grace. Learn from Apostle Paul and from Jesus the wisdom and glory of being commended by God. Hear God’s commendation of the son. “While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him” Matthew 17:5 (KJV).
PRAYER : Lord, may my life and ministry gain heaven’s approval.
