BIBLE READING : Isaiah 3; 4; Galatians 6
“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted” Galatians 6:1 (KJV).
One basic thing we must admit in our Christian pilgrimage on earth is the fact of our human weaknesses. We are not yet perfect but as we grow in knowledge and wisdom, we continue to press into this maturity and enjoy total victory. There is the possibility of falling into sin or erring from faith. Examples abound in the scriptures and even our contemporary world of dear saints who erred from faith. We are admonished to contend earnestly for the faith. We must understand that we have an enemy to contend with who does not mean good for us. God’s desire for us is that we sin not. “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” 1 John 2:1 (KJV).
As true as this is, our loving father has made provision for us to bounce back if we fall to temptation. Jesus is our faithful advocate. One is not a failure because one falls, it is failure to rise and continue the journey that makes one a failure. We have a divine mandate to restore the fallen heroes. However, in carrying out this important work of restoration, we should be careful not to fall victim of the same temptation. To ensure this work of restoration, we must first be spiritual about it. We must not open door for pride, lust or judgemental spirit. Restoration must be done with meekness, discipline and carefulness.
Prayer : Lord, thank you for restoration.
