“But He said “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word and keep it”. Luke 11:28(NKJV)
The scripture above was Christ response to a certain woman’s comment concerning Him. It was a comment which was intended to eulogize His person, but Christ replied that more than the blessedness of the breast He sucked are those who hear His word and Keep them. In keeping His word the bible admonishes us in Proverb 6:21-23(NKJV) “Bind them continually upon your heart; tie them around your neck. When you roam, they will lead you; when you sleep, they will keep you; and when you awake, they will speak with you. For the commandment is a lamp, and the law is light; reproofs of instruction are the way of life,” The word of God is a sure and pure word to rely on and believe in, it is worth keeping. Binding the word of God in our hearts has no disadvantage but will do the bearer good in all ramifications. The word of God as a lamp will lighten up our feet and keep us guided and as light will illuminate our path and keep us properly directed. Romans 10:17(NKJV) says “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. It is through God’s word we contact God’s power and divine direction. It is by His word God reveals His person to us. The word of God carry’s the power of God. The word of God has creative power. The word of God is eternal and cannot be broken. The written word has divine virtues which translate into our healing, deliverance and liberation. For us to be solution providers and pacesetters in our chosen career we must engage the word for in it are issues of life. See what the bible says in Proverb 4: 20-22(KJV) “My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not Let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.”
Prayer: Almighty God grant me the grace to bind your word in my heart and make it my way of life. In Jesus Name.
