Bible Reading: Jeremiah 12, 13, 14; 2 Timothy 1
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began” 2 Timothy 1:9(KJV)
The salvation of man is a masterpiece of divine plan initiated by God before the world began. At Eden, the earth existed but the world which is the collective and organized existence of humanity was absent. It was at Eden that man fell and was separated from divine presence, but before man was removed from Eden God’s divine purpose and grace for the redemption of man was released in prophecy which came to effect at the due time. God’s salvation and His calling of humanity is not according to our works nor was it accidental, but a properly articulated plan that span ages to materialize. Right from Eden, at inception God made a pronouncement that took thousands of years to manifest and this is referred to as the fullness of times. “That in the dispensation of the of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:” Ephesians 1:10 (KJV).
The coming of Christ, death and resurrection was all encapsulated in the reference to the fullness of time. “But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law” Galatians 4:4(KJV). The declaration of God in Genesis 3:15 resonated across the whole scripture through the instrumentality of prophecy by prophets across various dispensations consummating in the birth, death, resurrection and ascension of Christ. Christ is the consummation of all prophecies and laws. He is the Righteousness the Law was pointing to and the subject of all prophecies. It is no wonder that the two symbols of the law and prophecy – Moses and Elijah needed to meet with Him at the mountain of transfiguration as the accomplishment of the law and prophecy.
Dear reader, Christ is the ultimate consummation of all prophecies who came in the fullness of time to provide and execute divine plan for the liberation of humanity. This is why the bible says in Acts 4:12(KJV), “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” This is a final conclusion, hence requires no debate. It is necessary that you ponder on this and urgently reconcile your life back to God through Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Father I thank You that I am in this dispensation as a recipient and beneficiary of Your divine plan.
