Bible Reading: Ezekiel 37,38 & 39; 2 Peter 2
“So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.” Ezekiel 37:10 (KJV)
The vision Ezekiel had of the dry bones in the valley has so much importance to us today. Especially in today’s world where many are fast losing trust in their government and institutions. Even the leaders of the so-called big nations of the world are asking for help. But the Psalmist showed us where help comes from in Psalm 121:1-2 (KJV), “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help, [2] My help cometh from the LORD which made heaven and earth.” Ezekiel speaks of the future restoration of God’s people by God Himself, but only those who keep looking up to Him will experience it.
The things in your life, whatever they may be, can be restored, and new life can be breathed into them. What I love about this passage is that God asks Ezekiel if the bones can be restored. He is essentially asking him if he had faith in Him to restore the bones. Whatever you may have lost in the past, whether through ignorance or disobedience God will restore if you repent and call on Him.
Sometimes, losses may come due to the wicked acts of the devil. The example of Job is one of such where a man blameless and upright was allowed to be harassed. But in the end Job was restored and his latter end was greater than his former.
Repentance from sin is a start to a new life and path to restoration. Accepting the Lordship of Jesus Christ puts you in a position where the One through whom all things exist restores all to you.
Prayer: Father, restore unto Your children all they may have lost while living in the dark. Grace to remain in You all through all days in Jesus name.
