Bible Reading: Daniel 1, 2; 1 John 4.
Memory Verse: “As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.” Daniel 2:29 (KJV).
Several years ago, I was thinking of what to do having gotten to the zenith of my career and still was relatively young. As a bank executive director, I needed to plan my exit properly. Then the Lord showed me in a dream how the price of a stock I was in charge grew from about one Nigerian Naira to ten Nigerian Naira under my management. That revelation made me to buy into the company and we managed it such that truly the quoted price moved to about ten Naira from less than a Naira and that investment gave our company the biggest breakthrough. That revelation came from God, the revealer of secrets and it helped us a great deal.
God often reveal secrets to his children but we do not take full advantage of such divine blessing. In our passage, God revealed the secret of future events to King Nebuchadnezzar without asking for it so that he could use it for the benefit of his people but he did not appear to have taken full advantage of it. On the other hand, he revealed the same secret to Daniel based on his request and it saved lives of all wise men in the kingdom.
The Bible says in Amos 3:7 (KJV), “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” Do you realise you can also get secrets concerning your life, business, career, relationship and on so many others because the Bible says in Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV), “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” He furthered reiterated this in Matthew 7:7 (KJV), “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”
What is that thing that you need to know, what critical decision do you need to take that you should get right? Call on the revealer of secrets to show you a glimpse of the future and he will surely reveal it to you. All you need is to create a conducive atmosphere to have fellowship with him and preferably that you also fast within that period so that you could be sensitive to the Holy Spirit when He talks to you. You should ensure you praise and thank him for most of the time and the petition should be for a very small part of your fellowship. This fellowship could take one hour, one day, three days, seven days or even more depending on how deep you are able to immerse yourself in the fellowship and also subdue your flesh. And ultimately, the timing of the revelation depends on God!
Action Point:
Fellowship with God spending an hour thanking and praising him today.
