Bible Reading: Hosea 9, 10, 11; Revelation 3.
Memory Verse: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 (KJV).
The story is said of a Nigerian couple who went on scholarship to Europe and while there, there was a change, of government in Nigeria. The new government did not care for the scholars and so they had serious challenges living abroad. Then one day, things were really bad as they had nothing to eat at home and the family prayed for God’s help and the man went out while the woman remained at home with the children crying because of hunger!
Then suddenly, the woman heard of a knock on the door and went to open it. Meanwhile the children stopped crying when they heard of a knock and some Christian’s came in and preached the gospel to the woman. When they finished sharing the word, the woman told them she had nothing at home, she would have loved to entertain them. The preachers then asked if she did not even have bottles of soft drinks to which she replied in the affirmative. And the preachers went to the fridge and saw it empty and they asked the woman to wait while they went to buy groceries from the store and brought to her. They then listened to her story and thereafter got a job for her husband and things changed for the better for the family.
But things transformed for them because they opened their door to the preachers that knocked. Jesus Christ is knocking the door of the heart of many people but they are not opening the door and his promise is quite simple. Revelation 3:20 (KJV) says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, please listen to your heart as you read this message and open the door to him. He will fellowship with you and show you the way forward in whatever situation you may be facing. In John 14:6 (KJV), “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Jesus is the way and ready to help you navigate your direction. That is why the Bible says in Psalm 32:8 (KJV), “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” He is ready for you. All He expects is that you call on Him, accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, accept your position as a sinner, confess your sins to Him, ask for forgiveness and promise Him that you will not go back to those sins anymore rather you will follow His word and He will accept you and bring you into His fold.
And if you already have a relationship with Him, and going through challenging times, He is ready to show you the way forward. Just ensure you praise Him for a good time and then bring your issues to Him and wait for His response to you. He will surely teach you the way to go.
