Memory verse: “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness” Genesis 1:3-4 (KJV)
The Creator of the universe shows us how to create anything of value that will last here on earth. God called light into the darkness on the earth at the beginning of the creation process. With light you know where you are at the moment and where to go next. The wonders of creation we see today began with God’s light dispelling the darkness on the earth.
Living and remaining in the dark destroys destiny. Darkness is not something you take lightly. Light is the only remedy to the darkness in the life of men. Light illuminates and reveals. Light advances you when engaged. God’s word is the light that illuminates and reveals. Psalms 119:105 (KJV), “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Just as He needed His word to create everything here on earth so do we if we are to fulfill our glorious destiny here on earth. Without light or God’s word you will remain at a spot.
The light you need to move and fulfill purpose in life is found in God’s word. You must receive the word and keep it. Psalms 119:130 (KJV) says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” As light enters you things begin to change. You arise and shine because your light has come (Isaiah 60:1). You begin to make progress and expand.
Jesus is the light of life. John 1:4-5(KJV) says, “In him was life; the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” He was the word God spoke at the beginning of creation that lighted and created the whole world. He is the true light that illuminates the life of men. He said in John 8:12 (KJV), “… I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
As you begin this year 2022, let Jesus be at the centre of everything you do. As you consciously invite Him into every area of your life, darkness flies away from you and you fulfill the words of Proverbs 4:18 “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
