“And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only to Moses? Hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it”. Numbers 12:1-2(KJV)
Our God is a God of orderliness. When He calls a man He calls him alone. God’s calling is not on a group of people. However, when God calls a man He directs people to him who will work under him to fulfill God’s assignment. The spirit of rebellion is an age long evil that has thrived among men. It is the spirit that brings division in the rank and file and if not properly handled can truncate a man’s calling and consequently terminate destiny. It is an intentional conspiracy against constituted authority. It is a very devastating evil that has brought down most organizations. Note that Aaron and Miriam are the same sibling with Moses, their rising against Moses if not curtailed with divine swiftness would have wreaked havoc in the camp of Israel. God considers the sin of rebellion as the sin of witchcraft as stated in 1 Samuel 15:23a (KJV) “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry…”. As Christian we must watch out for this deadly spirit, by putting our thoughts under check. When we begin to feel we can do better than our Senior Pastor watch it; that is the beginning of rebellious spirit. When you begin to pick fault every time on your leaders action, please beware rebellion is brewing. The spirit of rebellion thrives in a proud heart. It is my prayer that the Almighty God releases the spirit of humility and servanthood on the church of Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Father give me the grace to be a dedicated and committed follower. Release upon me the spirit of humility and servanthood so as to make my service in your kingdom pure. In Jesus Name.
