Bible Reading: Genesis 31-32, Matthew 10:24-42
“And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.” Genesis 31:3 (KJV)
In Genesis 12, God appear unto Abraham and told him to leave his father’s house to a place He will show him. The bible says and immediately Abraham departed. He appeared several times again to Abraham until we were told in Genesis 24:1 (KJV), “And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.” Directions from God ultimately leads to a life of blessings and peace.
Isaac, too, was led by God the same way as his father, Abraham. Genesis 26:2-3 (KJV) says, “And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: [3] Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;” Isaac obeyed and became a prince in a foreign land, mightier than the inhabitants of the land because, just like his father, he was divinely led by God.
When the creator of heaven and earth leads He goes with the led and makes life comfortable even in uncomfortable situations. Imagine telling Isaac to remain in a land where there is famine and everyone was moving. Earlier, Abraham left his comfort place not knowing where God was taking him to. It takes only a man whose spirit is alive to hear and follow such instructions.
Like his fathers, Jacob too heard the voice of the Lord and did accordingly. When God gives an instruction He will only meet and provide for you where He asked you to be. His protection and provisions guarantees a glorious life here on earth. But to hear Him you must be a man and woman of the spirit. Revelation 1:10 (KJV) says, “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,” Only the spiritual and meek can be led by God.
Seek for His guidance and directions today by calling unto Him. Serve Him in spirit and in truth and you will hear His voice naturally.
Action Plan: A life of continous obedience to His word, prayer and searching of the scriptures must be your lifestyle beginning from this month of January if you are to come alive in the spirit.
