Bible Reading: Leviticus 14; Matthew 26:55-75
“And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.” – Matthew 26:75
Have you ever done something that you immediately regret? Maybe you have physically and mentally abused someone and you are felt guilty or just because no one sees you, doesn’t mean you have gone unnoticed. For the God we serve is omnipresent and omnipotent; Everywhere at the same time and is all knowing like the manner in which Peter remembered the words of Jesus in our opening text. Surely, in life there might be some regrets we had wished we could go back and undo like in the case of Peter.
Peter’s regrets and despair were worse than death. But thanks be unto God, who can use our failures to bring glory to Himself. Peter figured it out too late. I’ve already messed up and blown it. There’s no use trying to get it back together. No matter how devastating ur life my have been, it doesn’t have to be an excuse to give up and throw in the towel. Failure at one point in your life or failure in one area in your life is not an excuse to give up on yourself.
The beauty of God’s grace is that He can put the broken pieces of your life back together again. God has something better for you to do than just drowning in your regrets. He will move you beyond your regrets into His marvelous light. In this season God is performing the good work He has started in us. “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
We fall down and we get up. Just as Peter repented because Jesus Christ had prayed for him, he didn’t get backup on his own. But the hand of Jesus, reached down and picked him up again. So also, it doesn’t matter how far you have fallen, God can reach you, even if he has to reach way down. It doesn’t matter, how deep you are in your mess. Jesus can pick you up and turn you around again.
When you belong to God, nobody and nothing can snatch you out of Gods hands. Jesus said in John 10:28-29 (KJV), “ And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”
Prayer: Father, create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me that will bring you glory.
