BIBLE READING: 1 KINGS 3-5, LUKE 23: 1-26
Memory Verse: “Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:” Luke 23:14 (KJV).
The events that surround the crucifixion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ, call for sober reflections. If we must really succeed as “christians”, then we have a lot to learn from The Master himself. Jesus lived a faultless and blameless life. Living in a world that is corrupt, he distinguished himself and lived above sin despite the temptations. “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin”. Hebrews 4:15 (KJV)
Pilate himself testified after careful examination that Jesus was blameless and didn’t commit any offence worthy of death. That was a huge requirement for the salvation of our souls. We too can live a life devoid of faults if we key into the Christ life. When men accuse us falsely, our joy will be that we are blameless. It takes a clean man to make another clean. To rightly effect godly change as we desire in our society today, we must be blameless in our conversations, business dealings, dressing, e.t.c Even when the enemy (the accuser of the brethren) comes knocking, it will gladden the Father to know that the enemy has nothing on us. “Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me”. John 14:30 (KJV)
Peradventure there are still areas of concern in your life; the Master is available to help you. Just talk to him in prayer. A blameless life is possible in Christ Jesus.
Prayer: Father, please help me to live a blameless life before you.
