BIBLE READING: 1 KINGS 14-15, JOHN 1: 1-28
Memory Verse: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”. John 1:12 (KJV).
The difference between the believer and the nominal Christian is the availability of power. The Christian life such as was promised us by the Master is a life of victory, full of the manifestation of the power of God in every sphere of our life. When our Master was about leaving earth, He spoke about the coming of the Holy Spirit who would empower us to do greater works than He had done. Jesus himself spoke in John 14:12 (KJV) that “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father”.
Jesus came as the only begotten son but by His precious sacrifice, more sons can now emerge to live as He lived and do much more than He did. It is very possible to live a victorious life free from sin, sickness, and satanic oppression; full of grace, glory and power. Today many “Christians” seem to struggle to live the life and it seems an uphill task. That’s because they are yet to fully understand the scripture above. The only condition necessary is to receive Him and believe on His name. Many people are yet to fully realize the potency in the name of Jesus.
The name of Jesus has tremendous power to do great and mighty things but this power is available only to them that believe. “Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” John 11:40 (KJV)
Today, as you make conscious effort to believe and activate your faith, grace is released to bring you to the place of sonship; a level where you can live victoriously over sin and begin to manifest the power of God in every facet of life.
Prayer: Lord, I believe in you. Release your power so I can manifest sonship. Let me begin to live like you.
