BIBLE READING: 1 CHRONICLES 3-5, JOHN 8: 1-20
Memory verse: “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested”. 1 Chronicles 4:10 (KJV)
There are times and seasons in a man’s life when he is faced with very terrible situations needing urgent attention. Most times these situations come as a reproach to humiliate such a fellow. The troubles of life come as a raging storm and when some can’t find a solution, they resort to depression and think suicide is the only way out; but truthfully the only way out is to cry out to God for deliverance. The reason many don’t cry to God is that they don’t believe God can answer them. But we have strong proof in the scriptures that God indeed answers prayers. If we can trust the person of God, then we can trust his ability and capacity to answer us when we pray. He says, “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him”. Psalm 91:15 (KJV)
Jabez’s story is interesting; his mother birthed him in sorrow and named him thus, yet he was an honourable man. He realized the need for something to change in his life and destiny and he called on God. The bible says that God granted his request. It is refreshing to know that we serve a God that answers prayers. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us”. 1 John 5:14 (KJV)
If there is a man to pray, there is God to answer. The secret to receiving is in asking. Asking is by prayer. When we pour out our hearts to Him in total submission and faith in His ability and capacity, He will answer us. “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” Luke 11:10 (KJV). As you lift up your voice in prayers today and always, receive speedy answers in Jesus name, Amen.
Prayer: Father, I believe in your ability to answer me. Please answer me today.
