Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 23-25; John 16:16-33
“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” – John 16:24
Jesus is speaking to His disciples, in this verse, about prayers. so many believers pray without receiving answers from God. This always happens when believers won’t ask boldly and in the Name of Jesus. Often, believers make weak, faithless requests and wondered why their prayers don’t receive answers. The scriptures clearly stated that uncertainty in asking for anything in prayers already renders the request void and without answer “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:6-8 (KJV)
For believers to experience what God wants to give them spiritually, emotionally, financially, physically, socially, and mentally, they have to pray boldly, not wondering if they deserve it or not, but believe wholeheartedly that if God can save their soul from destruction He can give them whatever they desire and ask for in prayers. Believers also need to know that God loves them unconditionally, and, their confidence in Him manifest God’s integrity and Omnipotence to do all things.
The joy believers enjoy from answered prayers is not the joy from having things that God gives, but from joy of loving God intimately and knowing that He hears and wants us to be totally dependent on Him for everything we need. Because He will always come true for us by granting all our requests with answers. You might be wondering why it seems God has not answered your prayers. The truth is this, you may not have approach God with confidence and boldness with your petitions. God knows all about what we need, and He is ever willing to provide when we come to Him with boldness to obtain grace for answers to our prayers. “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 (KJV)
Prayer: Father, empower my prayer life with confidence of answers whenever I ask of anything in Jesus Name.
