Bible Reading: Job 35-37; Acts 14
“And there they preached the gospel.” Acts 14:7 (KJV)
The bible says in John 3:16 (KJV), “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This tells us that God is interested in the salvation of human beings and does not want any to die without hearing the word of God. This also lies at the root of a Just God. So that no one perishes without the opportunity of having heard of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is why it is said that the world will not come to an end until the word of God has been preached in all the parts of the world. Matthew 24:14 (KJV) says, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
Now who will preach the Gospel? It’s the believers and since every true believer is awaiting the quick return of Jesus and we know He will not come until the end of the world. And the world will not come to an end until the gospel has been preached all over the world!
This is why it behooves every child of God to take preaching the gospel very seriously; so as not to further delay the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is why Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:16 (KJV), “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” That is why he preached the gospel even when his life was in danger as was the case stated in Acts 14:5-6. The bible records concerning Paul and his team in Acts 14:7 (KJV) that in spite of the danger, “And there they preached the gospel.”
It is therefore important that each of you should preach the gospel continuously. This also explains why God commanded it so that we all can lay emphasis on it. Jesus spoke to the disciples and everyone of us who is a disciple today in Mark 16:15 (KJV), “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” This is why the scripture also say in Proverbs 11:30 (KJV), “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”
Once you focus on soul winning, whatever you ask is given to you as the Lord states in John 15:16. Even miracles followed the preached messages. Thus, after preaching in Lystra, a man lame in his feet was restored by Apostle Paul (Acts 14:8-10). Do you want to do exploits? Preach the gospel despite the challenges that you face and the miraculous shall be done through you.
Action Point: Ensure you preach the gospel to at least one person today and pray for grace to do this consistently.
