Bible Reading: Psalm 68-69; Romans 3.
Memory Verse: “He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death.” Psalm 68:20 (KJV)
Death is the irreversible cessation of all biological functions that sustain an organism. It is an inevitable, universal process that eventually occurs in all organisms. The Bible talks about four main types of death. The first is Spiritual death which is separation of man from God as a result of sin. This is the death Adam and Eve experienced when they disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden ( Genesis 2:15-17). Also every unbeliever is spiritually dead until he/she recovers by accepting Jesus in which case, he comes back to life ( Ephesians 2:1, 1 Timothy 5:6 ). The second type is Physical death: This is the separation of the outward man (body) from the inward man (soul) – (Ecclesiastes 12:7; 2 Cor 5:8). This is inevitable for every man except those who are alive at the time of rapture. This is clearly stated in Hebrews 9:27 (KJV), “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”
The third type is Eternal death. This happens to the soul and body. It happens immediately after the physical death because at that point, there is no repentance. It is the condemnation of the soul and body to hell due to a life of sin lived while in the body ( Ezekiel 18:4; Luke 16:19-31 ). The Fourth is called Second and Final Death: This occurs after the millennial reign (reign of 1000 years) of Christ on earth after the rapture. All those whose souls have experienced eternal death will be judged by the Lord Jesus and they would be vomited by hell and thrown into the lake of fire which has more torment. Then the devil and fallen angels would also be permanently thrown into that fire (Revelation 20:12-15).
For every living soul, there is an opportunity to avoid eternal death and the second and final death where there will be unimaginable pain and torment. It is better to repent now as there is no room for repentance after the physical death as stated by the Lord Jesus in Luke 16:19-31. I urge you to repent now of all your sins whether open or secret as the next hour may be too late. No man knows the hour he would die except the father and whoever he reveals it to. Jesus Christ has come to save us and is ready to rescue you from spiritual, eternal and final death. Psalm 68:20 (KJV) says, “He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death.” Please call on Him now.
Action Point: Call on the Lord Jesus Christ now asking for mercy and make a promise to live a life pleasing unto him going forward.
