Bible Reading: Psalm 148-150; 1 Corinthians 11:16-34
Memory verse: “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD” Psalm 150:6 (KJV)
Praise to God is the normal thing expected of everyone and everything. Angels, Sun and moon, heavens of heavens and waters above the heavens all praise God. Reason for this according to Psalm 148:5 (KJV) says, “Let them praise the name of the LORD, for he commanded, and they were created.” Everything praise God because He created them in the first place. How about you that was ‘fearfully and wonderfully’ made? (Psalm 139:14)
With praise you invite God directly into your life. Psalm 22:3 (KJV) says, “But thou are holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” NKJV puts it this way, “But you are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.” The more you live a life of praise, God who inhabits praises will be enthroned in your life. And the more praiseful you are, the more wonders you begin to see because His presence brings wonders.
David was a man described as one who was as wise an angel (2 Samuel 14:20). Angels praise God all day. David praised God seven times a day. Psalm 119:164 (KJV) says, “Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgements.” God was so enthroned in his life due to his praiseful lifestyle. No wonder he never lost a battle all through his battle-filled life.
How often do you praise God? Let praises become a normal thing and you begin to live a normal life. A normal life where, though trouble and challenges come, yet you overcome all because of the Almighty God you have enthroned in your life through praise.
Action Point: Begin this day to consciously make out time every day for praises to God.
